Fine/Performing Arts Mission Statement

CFCA's Fine/Performing Arts seeks to provide a Christ-centered environment that glorifies God and challenges our students in music, drama and art. Our goal is to develop the God-given abilities of students seeking careers, ministry or personal enrichment in the arts programs through top-quality instruction grounded in Biblical Truth.

  • Art

    Art is taken by all Elementary students and is an elective available for High School (9th-12th grade). Elementary students meet once a week and will work on diverse art assignments. The Upper School classes meet daily, and are primarily devoted to systematic presentations of various art processes, procedures, theories, and historical developments. The course emphasizes the study of the elements of art and principles of design, color theory, vocabulary, art criticism, art history. 

  • Band

    Band is an elective available for Middle School (6th-8th grade) and High School (9th-12th grade). Music instruction includes advanced methods in beat and rhythm, melody, harmony, instrumental technique, creating compositions, form, expression, music history, performance, and integrating music with general academic subjects. Students in each of these Upper School Bands perform at the following: concerts, chapel, pep band for school sports events, off campus performances, and the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) Regional and State Competitions.

  • Chorus

    Chorus is an elective available for Middle School (6th- 8th grade) as well as High School (9th- 12th grade.)  In chorus, the students are instructed in basic music theory concepts, the reading of music including time, note value, note names, and note rhythms. Our Middle School Chorus and High School Chorus participate in off-campus events, two annual concerts (December & May) and compete in the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) Regional & State Choral Competitions   

  • Drama

    Drama is an elective available for High School (9th- 12thgrade.)  High School Drama will work on performances that will be presented in our Chapel programs, off-campus events and in the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) Regional and State "One Act" Competitions.   

  • Elementary Band and Recorders

    Recorder classes are given to students in the 3rd & 4th grade. Elementary Band is available to students in the 5th grade. Musical instruction includes beat and rhythm, melody, harmony, instrumental technique, creating compositions, expression, music history and integrating music with general academic subjects. Students in these elementary class perform at elementary school musicals (December & May).

  • Elementary Music

    Elementary students in 1st-5th grades meet once a week to learn basic music skills. Students are introduced to music education through basic theory, singing and learning to use instruments. Some of the skills taught in Elementary music are beat and rhythm, melody, harmony, instrumental technique, creating compositions, expression, music history and integrating music with general academic subjects. They perform two musical concerts a year (December & May).
