Academic Forms

Please accept our apology - This page is currently under construction.

High School

The academic programs of Central Fellowship Christian Academy are based upon the belief that a Bible-based, Christ-centered education is the very best education that parents can provide for their children. Therefore, the academic programs have been developed to provide high quality academic instruction in an environment where prayer, Bible study and Christian textbooks are the norm.

Curriculum

The curriculum for high school students consists of a combination of Christian publishers. The curriculum is revised annually by the faculty and administration to ensure the best possible curriculum for our students .

Grading and Report Cards

Grades are reported to parents at the end of each nine weeks. Progress reports will be posted on Info Direct and an email will be sent to notify parents. Progress reports are also available upon request by students or parents through the Upper School office.   Parents are encouraged to enroll in Info Direct to monitor daily assignments and grades.
The grading system is as follows:  A = 90 – 100 B = 80 – 89 C = 70 – 79 F = 69 and below

Graduation Requirements

Central Fellowship Christian Academy is a college preparatory institution and requires the successful completion of an academic program that meets or exceeds the requirements of the state of Georgia for entrance into four-year college systems. Students graduating from Central Fellowship Christian Academy are required to have 24 credits accumulated from the ninth through the twelfth grade, with a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Credits are earned on a semester average (1/2 credit per semester). Because this is a Christian school, each student must be enrolled in a Bible class each year and must meet the school’s community service requirements. Students are required to take the SAT or the ACT, and all accounts are paid in full in order to graduate. Walking at graduation requires a minimum of 24 credits.

Math Track

Math track determined by achievement test scores, math grades and by recommendation of current Math teacher. All students are required to take Math each year. Students on the advanced track in Math must maintain a “B” average to remain in this track. Seniors are not allowed to drop a class or change courses after the second week of the school year.

Honor Society

Students in grades 6-12 who have attended CFCA for one semester may be eligible for the National Honor Society. The following criteria must be met:
1. Student must maintain a 3.5 cumulative average or above in every subject for the grading period prior to nomination.
2. Student will be evaluated on the basis of service, leadership, character, citizenship and spiritual qualities.

Student/Parent Resources

From the Registrar -

The primary mission of my office is to provide a broad range of personnel services to the students.  These services include student assessment, through testing, information services, placement and follow-up, and counseling assistance.  These four areas constitute the core of services provided in order to facilitate the growth and development of all students from kindergarten through the post high school experience.  The following is information that I send to parents with websites that would be helpful to them throughout this process.

Mrs. Beverly Harvey - Registrar

INFORMATION FOR JUNIORS AND SENIORS:

Juniors are required to take either an SAT or ACT exam prior to the end of their junior year.  We will not classify them as a senior at CFCA if this has not been completed.  We started this policy in order to accomplish a couple of things.  First, we wanted to make sure that the students had taken at least one exam before they begin to apply for college. Second, this gives the students twice as many opportunities to take the SAT or ACT again to improve their scores.

INFORMATION FOR SENIORS:

College & HOPE information:

One of the most important websites that you can visit is GaCollege411.  This website provides a wealth of information about colleges and the applications process, as well as all the information you need about the HOPE scholarship.  Every student needs to create and account on this website and use the tools provided there.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

One of the questions that I get asked the most is, “will you help me find scholarship information for my son/daughter?”  The search for scholarships is time consuming, however, can be rewarding if you are willing to do a bit of searching.  I always recommend that you search the website of the college that your child is interested in attending.  Many colleges have scholarships available that are exclusive to their institution.  However, there are some websites that provide information about other things that are available.  I have listed them below.

FINANCIAL AID:

Another aspect of planning for college is information about money other than scholarship money that is available to pay for college tuition.  In order to find out what federal money your child may qualify for, you need to complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application.   In order to award grants, such as the Pell grant, and federal student loans, the government assesses the information that is included on the FAFSA.

Some of the information that is requested on the FAFSA includes your income, what aid you are interested in (choose everything – you can always say no later), and what school you plan to attend.

This form can be completed after you have filed your taxes in January.  You have to complete this application every year in order to receive funds for that schoolyear. Once you have entered the information once, after that you just have to update your income tax information.  You can complete the application at the following website:  www.fafsa.ed.gov
